June 10 - Back to the Hospital

Unfortunately, Baby CP had jaundice and the formula that we were told to feed him wasn't enough to flush the bilirubin out.  So on June 10, the day after we brought Baby CP home, we had to return to St. Lukes for one night, where Baby CP was subjected to the phototherapy box.

I love this shot - It looks like he's tanning and clubbing at the same time.  Check out his shades.

This was one of the most stressful nights we've had with Baby CP.  We were given a very strict schedule to follow for the evening.  Feeding every two hours with no more than 30 minutes outside of the box each time.  They should have just told us not to even think there would be any chance of sleeping and we would have better managed expectations.  By the time you force the baby to eat and change his diapers and get him back to sleep, your two hours is up and forget about staying out of the box for no more than 30 minutes...Although we probably failed at sticking to the guidelines, luckily Baby CP's bilirubin levels dropped enough by the next day for us to all go home.
